Around this time last year I had the pleasure of going into my older daughter's grade 4 class to talk about marketing. One of the kids asked me if my business was successful and I answered him back by saying, "Well, how do you define success?"

He said, "Making lots of money."

And I explained to him that to me success isn't JUST about the money. The money is a byproduct of what I do. I explained to him that the most important thing for me is to be there for and with my kids and to help people.

I went on to say that I want to amplify the voices of the changemakers of the world and help people build their confidence so that they CAN use their voices.

That I want to be at every field trip and soccer practice.

Frankly, he got bored pretty quickly of me up on my soapbox. LOL.

But it's true.

Do I want to earn a comfortable wage?

Of course I do.

And my business has always been about SO MUCH MORE than that for me.

Hands up if you've ever been personally victimized

Hands up if you've ever been personally victimized by the comparison bug. 🙋‍♀️

Until recently I would've said that I do a pretty damned good job of not comparing myself to everybody and their dog on Instagram.

But then I realized...I compare my present self to my past self...and not in the good "Look how far I've come and done and grown" kinda way. FML. 🤦‍♀️

I don't care how much every other coach or service provider is making, or how many clients they're signing, or how many opportunities they're getting.

Because I TRULY believe there is room for us all, earnings for us all, and opportunities for us all.

But comparing myself to the version of me that had more clients, more income, or more confidence? Well, that’s where it gets tricky.

Maybe you’ve been there too—caught up in comparing your now to your past or someone else’s highlight reel. It’s exhausting, right? The truth is, that mindset will keep you stuck faster than anything else. And if you’re constantly looking over at someone else’s lane or holding yourself to some unrealistic past standard, you’ll miss all the progress you’re making right now.

It's just like how when you're running in a race, they always say NOT to look at where everybody else is. Focus on you, in your lane, and what you're doing.

Here’s the real talk you need to hear today: You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. And comparing your journey to anyone else’s (or to your old self) is stealing your energy from the progress you’re making.

As a coach, I help my clients break out of this comparison trap and get laser-focused on THEIR unique path. Because your success? It’s going to look different than anyone else’s—and that’s exactly how it should be.

Trying to do it all and be everything to everyone

Trying to do it all and be everything to everyone is a sure fire way to lose your damned mind and hit burnout at lightning speed.

As women we wear SO many hats and go through so many identity shifts...and with societal expectations we are expected to do it all looking perfectly, with a smile on our face, and with Grace...and obviously always in a way that puts us last on the priority list.

But here's the fun truth: you don't HAVE to do it all solo.

You don't have to lone wolf it.

One of the ways you can be a leader is to advocate for yourSELF and ask for (or demand!) help.

It doesn't HAVE to be on you to answer every email.
It doesn't HAVE to be on your to book every call.
It doesn't HAVE to be on you to do all of the grocery planning.
It doesn't HAVE to be on you to plan all of the date nights.
It doesn't HAVE to be perfect.

The list goes on and on and on in both your business and your personal life.

I created an approach to help streamline all of the things I'm doing in order to cut down on all of the BS I hate doing and focusing on the things I love doing!
