The month of October was bonkers for a client; they decided to host six live events in the span of about as many weeks…most of which saw very little planning or communication from their end (it was legit like pulling teeth for some). 🤦‍♀️

I knew with such a lack of clarity on WHY they were hosting these events and for WHO, not to mention WHAT they were going to discuss they would be an uphill battle.

I wasn’t wrong. My anxiety was proof.

So I focused on what *I* could do to make them a success.

Here were my main focuses:
1. Promoting the events on social media.
2. Promoting the events to their email list.
3. Reaching out to their network and asking them to promote the events.

To be honest, I moved away from DFY primarily many years ago so I don’t do it often, and if I’m being BRUTALLY honest, after these past two DFY clients I likely won’t take any in.

If I were to breakdown the EXACT steps I took to help create these results, would you want to see that?

Around this time last year I had the pleasure of going into my older daughter's grade 4 class to talk about marketing. One of the kids asked me if my business was successful and I answered him back by saying, "Well, how do you define success?"

He said, "Making lots of money."

And I explained to him that to me success isn't JUST about the money. The money is a byproduct of what I do. I explained to him that the most important thing for me is to be there for and with my kids and to help people.

I went on to say that I want to amplify the voices of the changemakers of the world and help people build their confidence so that they CAN use their voices.

That I want to be at every field trip and soccer practice.

Frankly, he got bored pretty quickly of me up on my soapbox. LOL.

But it's true.

Do I want to earn a comfortable wage?

Of course I do.

And my business has always been about SO MUCH MORE than that for me.
